Thanks for digging deep to find this post Graham. Actually I would recommend that the GOR is best travelled from Melbourne to Adelaide. It is easier to stop and take in the views, especially on the Torquay to Apollo Bay section. Especially when towing a caravan or in a motorhome.

My next thing to cross off the checklist is to travel the Grand Pacific Drive, and the Seacliff Bridge in particular, from Sydney to Nowra. I have done some of that road in the past few days, and the scenery is spectacular.

Thanks for wetting my appetite for the GOR. As you know, it is my ambition to travel from Adelaide to Melbourne on my next trip to New Zealand.

Sydney would be an awesome attraction for any traveler around the Globe. Especially the Harbour Bridge or historical sites, galleries, museums. If i will travel to Australia i am going to see the Sydney Opera House as well.

You shared your travel experience as a great article. I read out the first part and get impressed with it, which made me to read out the second part of your Sydney Icons. The pictures give more attraction to your blog and it is very lively which made to get curious to visit those places. I am impressed to read about the Bridge from Balmain really it is a great icon for Sydney.

I have been surprised at just how much green that we have seen in Sydney. Preconceived notions of big cities are that they are concrete jungles. The location of large stretches of National Parks close to the city centre, and within the suburbs of Sydney provides some havens of peace and tranquility within this busy city. I just hope the locals get to enjoy them as much as we are as visitors.

It certainly is true that there is so much to explore in my own country.
We have only just started to do that, and Australia is such a big country that the task will never be completed, and rather than do the Big Lap (a circuit around the country) we are taking our time and trying to soak up as much as we can at the places where we stop. That is as much as the budget allows.
Actually we are likely to revisit some places, rather than try to make fleeting visits to many just to say that we have been there.

I live on a tourist Island and I have always felt that the idea of touring one's home is a brilliant one. So it is hartening for me to see someone taking the time to travel his own country and learn more about it and share it with the world. On my own Island there is a drive to encourage more locals to tour the Island. The idea is dubbed a "staycation" meaning you stay at home and tour your own country and learn more about it. So I am happy to see Greg is enjoying his trek across Sydney because Australia it is a vast country with much to see and experience I am sure.

This is also a great way to highlight the icons of Sydney so that outers who come to visit will have an idea what are some of the more iconic spots to visit. This blog could serve as a very informative travel log and guide to tourist both local and international.
